Idroscalo: A large artificial basin near Linate Airport, originally built in 1928 as a seaplane base.
Recreational areas: Today, it’s an important leisure area, with cycling and walking paths, playgrounds, and swimming zones in certain areas.
Where to go to the seaside near Milan:
Ligurian Riviera: A very popular destination, reachable even for a day trip, with towns such as Camogli, Portofino, and San Fruttuoso.
Other destinations: People from Milan also visit other seaside locations, often reachable by train or car, to escape the city heat.
